It's near Line 2, but not directly at the subway gate.
Tongmyong is not directly beside a subway exit. The practical route is Line 2 + Tongmyong shuttle / city bus / short taxi from Kyungsung Univ.-Pukyong Nat'l Univ. Station Exit 5 or Daeyeon Station Exit 1. Also: don't confuse Tongmyong University / 동명대학교 (in Busan) with Tongyeong / 통영 (a different city in South Gyeongsang).

Tongmyong has multiple coordinators for undergraduate, graduate, exchange, visa and stay management, Korean language and career support. Tuition, as currently published
Per-semester tuition as currently published on Tongmyong's own English Tuition page. The undergraduate table has only four categories, so work out which one your department sits in before you budget.
Application fee KRW 50,000. Graduate entrance fee KRW 550,000. The same page adds that students will also need to pay a dormitory fee of KRW 1,900,000, an immigration registration fee of KRW 30,000 and other costs. The page does not say which dormitory building or room type the KRW 1,900,000 covers, or whether it is per semester or per year, so do not treat it as a room rate. See the Housing tab.

That page carries no academic-year label in its body, only a 2026 site copyright, so treat these as the rate as currently published rather than a confirmed rate for your intake. The undergraduate table lists four categories and no more. Business is not listed separately and the page does not say which category it falls under, so we are not going to guess. There is no nursing, health science or medicine line at all. No USD figures are published. Confirm your department's exact rate with the university or with our education partners before you commit money.

Scholarships
Tongmyong's main award for incoming international undergraduates is an automatic language-proficiency scholarship with four tiers. It is a tuition reduction only. There is no living allowance attached, and it does not touch the application fee or the entrance fee.

Global Korea Scholarship
We could not confirm whether Tongmyong is a GKS-designated institution. No page on tu.ac.kr mentions the Global Korea Scholarship or the Korean Government Scholarship Program at all, and the government site studyinkorea.go.kr blocked our check on 3 August 2026. We are not implying either answer, yes or no. If GKS matters to your plan, ask the Office of International Affairs directly, or ask our education partners to confirm, before you build a budget around it.
The reductions apply to tuition only. A Level C engineering student still pays about 70% of KRW 3,869,000 per semester, roughly KRW 2,708,300, and the application and entrance fees sit outside the award. Tongmyong publishes no worked examples, so that arithmetic is ours from its published figures. Checked on 3 August 2026. Tiers, thresholds and amounts are reset each cycle, so confirm yours before you rely on them.

Typical application windows
Neither Spring 2027 nor Fall 2027 international deadlines were published as of 3 August 2026. The most recent cycle Tongmyong has actually published for international applicants is Fall 2026, and we use it below as the calibration reference.
These 2027 windows are patterns from a previous cycle, not confirmed dates. Tongmyong has not published them. One trap to avoid: tu.ac.kr/iphak posted a 2027학년도 신입생 수시 모집요강 on 28 May 2026, but that is the domestic 수시 track, not the 외국인 특별전형 for international students, and its dates must not be used for an international application. When we checked on 3 August 2026, the newest admission post on the 국제교류처 notice board was still the Fall 2026 one, dated 10 April 2026. Do not book flights, resign from a job or pay anyone against these windows. Confirm the live dates with the Office of International Affairs or with our education partners first.

Last confirmed cycle: Fall 2026 (2026학년도 2학기), 외국인유학생 특별전형. Round 1: applications 13 April to 30 April 2026, screening 6 to 21 May, results 27 May, registration 27 May to 5 June. Round 2: applications 1 June to 18 June 2026, screening 22 June to 8 July, results 14 July, registration 14 to 27 July. The semester begins 1 September 2026.
Applications are filed online through Uway (유웨이), then the supporting documents are posted to the university by mail. Tongmyong's wording is Uway 온라인접수 후 증빙서류 우편제출. The Fall 2026 link on the English admission page was https://ipsi3.uwayapply.com/2026/foreign/tu/?CHA=3 . That URL is cycle-specific, so take the current one from https://www.tu.ac.kr/english/sub02_10.do rather than reusing it.

Tongmyong's shuttle route connects School → UN Crossroad → Daeyeon-dong intersection → Kyungsung University front area → School. Shuttle stops sit roughly 150–200 m from Kyungsung-Pukyong Exit 5 toward PKNU, and ~200 m from Daeyeon Station Exit 1 toward Kyungsung University. Check the current shuttle notice on arrival.
By Taxi
With luggage, a short taxi from Line 2 (or directly from Gimhae Airport) is the easiest first-arrival option. Korean address: 부산광역시 남구 신선로 428 동명대학교.

The Student District
Tongmyong's immediate area is Yongdang / UN Park side of Nam-gu. For a livelier student atmosphere with more cafés, restaurants, bars, shops and student services, head toward Kyungsung Univ.-Pukyong Nat'l Univ. Station.
Daeyeon Station area and UN Park / Yongdang local streets cover daily food and cafés closer to campus.

On-Campus Dorms
Tongmyong's dormitory system is split across three buildings. Building 1 (제1생활관) is the largest, and its official facility page lists only two room types: 71 double rooms (2인실) for 142 residents and 180 triple rooms (3인실) for 540 residents, 251 rooms and 682 residents in total, across floors B2 to 10F. There are no single rooms in Building 1. Building 2 (제2생활관) is listed as a domestic female hall. Building 3 (제3생활관) is described by the university as 외국인 전용 기숙사, a dormitory exclusively for international students: 18 double rooms and 21 triple rooms, 39 rooms for 99 residents, a basement plus four above-ground floors. Building 3 is an off-campus building (교외) in Nam-gu, Busan, postcode 48531, with an administrative office, print room, fitness room, laundry and lounge. Dormitory entrance hours are 05:00 to 23:30 with an S/G access card, and the reading and study room is listed as open 24 hours.

Room counts, room types and the Building 3 details above were re-checked on 3 August 2026 against Tongmyong's official dormitory pages. No fee table for any building appears in text anywhere on that dormitory site. The only dormitory money figure published on any official Tongmyong page is on the English tuition page, which says students will need to pay a dormitory fee of KRW 1,900,000. That page does not say which building, which room type, or whether the amount covers one semester or a full academic year, so we will not publish it as a room rate. Ask the dormitory office before you budget. Building 3 front desk 051-621-6264, administration office 051-629-8210 to 8212, fax 051-629-8219. Other amenity details listed here, including the laundry prices of 1,000 KRW per wash and 500 KRW per dry, come from an earlier check and were not re-verified in August 2026.
Off-Campus Rent
Nearby rent figures are not something we have verified ourselves, so treat listings as a starting point. Search areas: Yongdang-dong, Daeyeon-dong, Kyungsung-Pukyong Station area, UN Park area. Useful Korean search terms: 동명대 원룸, 동명대학교 원룸, 용당동 원룸, 대연동 원룸, 경성대부경대역 원룸, 유엔공원 원룸, 동명대 자취방. Use Naver 부동산, 직방, 다방 and local real-estate offices.
Never sign sight-unseen. Use a vetted advisor to conduct a physical room check before sending any deposit.

Campus Dining (파로스 식당 and the Student Welfare Building outlets)
Tongmyong's official campus dining list names five outlets. 파로스 식당 Pharos is the main student cafeteria, serving set meals (정식), pork cutlet (돈가스) and ramen (라면), on the 1st floor of the Student Welfare Building (학생복지관, Building 8). 포썸 PhoSsom is Vietnamese, pho (쌀국수) and rice bowls (덮밥), on the 1st floor of the Second Information and Communication Building (제2정보통신관, Building 16). 베이징스토리 Beijing Story is Chinese, jjajangmyeon (짜장면), jjamppong (짬뽕) and tangsuyuk (탕수육), Student Welfare Building 1F. 에스푸드 S Food does sandwiches, toast and gimbap (김밥), Student Welfare Building 1F. 맘스터치 Mom's Touch does tteokbokki (떡볶이) and fried snacks (튀김), Student Welfare Building 1F. Be aware of what is not published: the only opening hours and the only price that appear anywhere on tu.ac.kr are for the subsidised breakfast programme, 천원의 아침밥, which runs 08:00 to 09:40 with orders taken until 09:30, at KRW 1,000. Lunch and dinner hours and the regular menu price range for 파로스 식당 are not published, so we do not quote a price range here. Ask on campus in your first week.

Exact current campus health desk location should be confirmed locally.

Around Tongmyong
For daily food and cafés, start with on-campus cafés, the Student Welfare Building food area, the on-campus convenience stores (CU 1/2/3), Daeyeon Station area and UN Park / Yongdang local streets.
For a more lively student atmosphere, head toward the Kyungsung Univ.-Pukyong Nat'l Univ. Station area, more cafés, restaurants, bars, shops and student services. Larger shopping (Daiso / Olive Young / supermarket) is best checked locally.
