What CUP actually is, and who it suits.

    A Health Sciences University First

The nursing and allied health departments are the core of this university, not a side wing. On the foreign special-admission track the open departments are led by 간호학과 (Nursing) and the whole 보건과학대학 (College of Health Sciences): 임상병리학과, 물리치료학과, 방사선학과, 치기공학과, 병원경영학과, 언어청각치료학과 and 산업보건안전학과. If you are not aiming at health sciences, computing, fire and disaster prevention, or the social science departments, this is probably not your campus.

Four Ways To Meet The Language Requirement

CUP's undergraduate foreign special admission accepts a TOPIK score, or one year or more at its own 국제교육원 with the director's recommendation, or KIIP (사회통합프로그램) Level 1 or a pre-assessment score of 21 or above, or the Sejong Institute beginner course with online study excluded. The KIIP route is rare among Busan universities and is worth knowing if you already live in Korea.

    One Scholarship Pays Your Dormitory

Alongside the usual TOPIK-banded entry award and GPA-banded academic awards, CUP publishes a 생활지원장학금 (Living Support Scholarship) that covers dormitory fees, excluding meals and vacation periods, for students who hold TOPIK Level 3 or above and entered through the foreign special-admission track. Housing support of that kind is unusual, and it changes the real cost of a year here.

Main campus: 57 Oryun-daero, Geumjeong-gu, Busan 46252, Republic of Korea · (46252) 부산광역시 금정구 오륜대로 57 (부곡3동 9번지) 부산가톨릭대학교. The 국제교류처 (International Exchange Office) publishes its own address as 부산광역시 금정구 오륜대로 74 부산가톨릭대학교 메리놀관 201호 국제교류처, Maryknoll Building (H) Room 201, 74 Oryun-daero, Geumjeong-gu, Busan. CUP's own pages are internally inconsistent here: the 찾아오시는길 page gives 오륜대로 57 with postcode 46252 for the main campus and 오륜대로 74 with postcode 46252 for the dormitory complex, while the 국제교류처 pages give 오륜대로 74 with postcode 46265. We are flagging that rather than picking one. The 교통안내 page also lists 신학대학 (theology) buildings at 부산광역시 금정구 기찰로102번길 56-7 (46265). Checked against CUP's own pages on 3 August 2026.

    The Reality Check

Korean gets you in here. English will not.

No English-medium degree track is advertised anywhere in CUP's official admissions material, and admission on the foreign special track is gated on Korean. No IELTS, TOEFL or other English test appears as a requirement or an alternative anywhere in the undergraduate foreign-admission guidelines. You need one of four things: a TOPIK score, one year or more at CUP's own 국제교육원 with the director's recommendation, KIIP (사회통합프로그램) Level 1 or a pre-assessment score of 21 or above, or the Sejong Institute beginner course with online study excluded. Students admitted holding TOPIK below Level 3 must take mandatory Korean-language coursework. To be precise about what we can and cannot confirm: no official page states that all courses are taught in Korean, so we are not publishing that as a fact. What we can say is that no English-medium track is advertised and that admission requires Korean proficiency.

    Programs

A health sciences university with a small social science and computing wing.

CUP is a private Catholic university in Geumjeong-gu whose centre of gravity is nursing and allied health. The departments open to international applicants on the undergraduate foreign special-admission track, with quotas listed as 정원 외 (outside the standard quota) in the official 모집요강, are: 간호대학, 간호학과 (Nursing); 보건과학대학 (College of Health Sciences), 임상병리학과 (Clinical Laboratory Science), 물리치료학과 (Physical Therapy), 방사선학과 (Radiological Science), 치기공학과 (Dental Laboratory Technology), 병원경영학과 (Hospital Management), 언어청각치료학과 (Speech-Language and Hearing Therapy), 산업보건안전학과 (Industrial Health and Safety); 응용과학대학 (College of Applied Science), 소방방재학과 (Fire and Disaster Prevention), 컴퓨터정보공학부 (Computer and Information Engineering); 사회과학대학 (College of Social Sciences), 유통마케팅학과 (Distribution and Marketing), 사회복지학과 (Social Welfare), 상담심리학과 (Counseling Psychology), 글로벌한국학부 (Global Korean Studies).

    Academic Fields

At graduate level the 일반대학원 (General Graduate School) runs 15 departments and operates its own 외국인전형 (foreign applicant track). The published departments include 간호학과, 임상병리학과, 물리치료학과, 방사선학과, 치기공학과, 병원경영학과, 언어청각치료학과, 안전보건학과, 컴퓨터공학과, 사회안전시스템공학과, 마케팅비즈니스학과, 글로벌유통비즈니스학과 (an online master's), 과학수사학과 (forensic science) and related tracks, plus a separate 미래복지상담대학원. Two honest gaps at graduate level: the graduate language requirement is not published on any web page we could read, it sits inside downloadable files that were not machine-readable, and graduate tuition is not published anywhere either. Ask 국제교류처 directly before you plan a graduate application.

    Language of Instruction

No English-medium track is advertised, and admission requires Korean.

CUP advertises no English-medium degree track anywhere in its official admissions material. Admission on the foreign special track is gated on Korean proficiency, and the 모집요강 states that applicants admitted with TOPIK below Level 3 must take mandatory Korean-language coursework, which points to Korean-medium delivery. We want to be careful with the wording: no official page makes an explicit statement such as "all courses are taught in Korean", and no page lists any English-taught programme either, so we are not publishing "no English-taught programmes" as a verified fact. What is verified is the absence of any advertised English-medium track and the presence of a Korean-language entry requirement. The eligibility rule itself is generous in one respect: the guideline asks you to hold a TOPIK score without stating a minimum level for eligibility. The level affects two things instead, whether you must take mandatory Korean coursework and which scholarship band you land in.

    Korean Language Pathway

    국제교육원 (International Education Institute)

CUP has its own Korean language institute on campus, the 국제교육원, an affiliated institute of the university. The 정규과정 (regular course) runs from 초급 (beginner) through 고급 (advanced) with four intakes a year, in March, June, September and December. Each term is 10 weeks and 200 hours, Monday to Friday, either 09:10 to 13:00 in the morning or 13:20 to 17:00 in the afternoon. The term windows are early March to mid May, early June to mid August, early September to mid November, and early December to mid February. Tuition is KRW 1,200,000 per 10-week term, with a non-refundable application fee of KRW 50,000, insurance of KRW 100,000 for 6 months, and textbooks charged separately. There is also a 단기과정 (short course) in 3-day and 7-day formats, customised for overseas schools and organisations, including textbooks and cultural activities. Short-course enquiries go to hsyoon@cup.ac.kr. Note that CUP publishes two different locations and phone numbers for the same institute: the main site gives 미카엘관 (Michael Building, M) Room 104 with direct lines 051-510-0863 and 051-510-0870, fax 051-510-0869, while the international site gives 메리놀관 201호 with the switchboard 051-515-5811 to 5815, fax 051-514-1576. Both are official. Try the direct lines first and fall back on the switchboard.

    Tuition, as currently published

CUP does not publish a per-department 등록금 (tuition) table as a normal web page. The figures below come out of the official foreign-admission 모집요강 PDFs, on a 수업료 plus 입학금 basis, labelled 2026학년도 1학기 기준 as CUP labels them. They are the real published numbers, they are simply not where you would expect to find them.

Application fee (전형료) for the undergraduate foreign special-admission track: KRW 70,000, paid by bank transfer to 부산은행 112-01-003734-8. Dormitory and meals are billed separately, see the Housing tab.

응용과학대학 (Applied Science: 소방방재학과, 컴퓨터정보공학부) KRW 4,127,500 2026학년도 1학기 기준. The Spring 2026 guideline quoted the 2025 figure of KRW 4,011,000. This is the most expensive band at CUP.
사회과학대학 / 글로벌한국학부 (Social Sciences and Global Korean Studies: 유통마케팅학과, 사회복지학과, 상담심리학과, 글로벌한국학부) KRW 3,226,000 2026학년도 1학기 기준. The Spring 2026 guideline quoted the 2025 figure of KRW 3,135,000. This is the cheapest band at CUP.
국제교육원 정규과정 (Korean language regular course) KRW 1,200,000 per 10-week term Plus a non-refundable application fee of KRW 50,000 and insurance of KRW 100,000 for 6 months. Textbooks are charged separately. Four terms a year, so a full year of Korean study is four of these.

Checked on 3 August 2026. Two things to keep in mind. CUP publishes no standalone per-department fee table on the web, these figures live inside each intake's 모집요강 PDF, and the 등록금심의위원회 (tuition deliberation committee) board posts only meeting notices, never amounts. And the figures are labelled 2026학년도 1학기 기준, so treat them as the last published rate rather than a quote for your own intake. Confirm against the guideline for the cycle you are applying to.

    Scholarships

CUP's 국제교류처 publishes five scholarship routes for international students. Read them as a set rather than one at a time: the entry award is a one-off, the academic and language awards are what carry you through the later years, and one of them pays your dormitory rather than your tuition.

외국인 유학생 CUP 스타트업 장학금 (CUP Startup Scholarship)

    TOPIK 6: 100% of 수업료. TOPIK 5: 70%. TOPIK 4: 60%. TOPIK 3: 50%. TOPIK 2: 30%. TOPIK 1: 20%.

Banded strictly by the TOPIK level you hold at admission.

Awarded once, at admission only. It does not repeat, so plan the rest of your degree around the academic and language awards below.

    성적 장학금 (Academic Performance Scholarship)

    Top 2% of the previous semester's GPA rank: 100%. Top 10%: 70%. Top 25%: 50%. Top 50%: 30%. Top 70%: 20%.

Attendance of 80% or above, plus a minimum credit load: 15 credits or more in years 1 to 3, and 12 or more in year 4.

    외국어성적 우수장학금 (Language Improvement Scholarship)

5% of 수업료 for each TOPIK level you gain

Applied per semester on submission of the new score.

This one rewards the effort rather than the starting point, so it is worth sitting TOPIK again while you study.

    생활지원장학금 (Living Support Scholarship)

Covers dormitory fees, excluding meals and vacation periods

Hold TOPIK Level 3 or above and have entered through the foreign special-admission track.

The unusual one, and often the most valuable in cash terms. It pays the dormitory, not the tuition. Meals at KRW 2,350 each are still yours to pay.

    Family and alumni awards

30% where two or more family members are enrolled at the same time. 30% for alumni family. 100% for a three-generation family.

For the two-or-more family award, a GPA of 2.5 or above and 15 or more credits.

    Global Korea Scholarship

We could not confirm whether CUP is a designated institution for the Korean government's Global Korea Scholarship (GKS). No CUP page and no reachable page on studyinkorea.go.kr states whether the university is GKS-designated, so we are saying that plainly rather than implying either answer, in either direction. Two things follow. None of the five awards above is a GKS award, they are CUP's own money. And none of them is a living stipend: four are percentage reductions on 수업료 and the fifth, the 생활지원장학금, pays dormitory fees. If your plan depends on GKS, confirm CUP's status with 국제교류처 on +82-51-510-0868, or with our education partners, before you commit to anything.

Checked on 3 August 2026 against CUP's own 국제교류처 scholarship page and the 2026 foreign-admission guideline. Scholarship names, bands and thresholds are reset every cycle in Korea, so confirm any figure against the guideline for your own intake.

    Typical application windows

As of 3 August 2026 CUP's admissions site publishes exactly two documents in its 외국인 section, the 2026학년도 전기 guideline and the 2026학년도 후기 guideline. Nothing at all has been published for the 2027 academic year. CUP asks that its cycle dates not be projected forward, so we are not projecting them. This is the fastest-dating information on this page, so check CUP's admissions board directly before you plan anything. One structural point that genuinely helps: CUP runs three application rounds per intake, which is more generous than most Busan universities, so missing a first deadline is usually not fatal.

This is the fastest-dating information on this page. CUP has published nothing for the 2027 academic year and we are not estimating dates on its behalf. Do not book flights, resign from a job, pay anyone or start apostilling documents until CUP posts the real guideline. Re-check CUP's admissions board directly, and confirm every date and every requirement with 국제교류처 on +82-51-510-0868, or with our education partners, first.

    Intake Window Basis
Spring 2027 (2027학년도 전기, March start) CUP has not published the 2027 dates, and we are not projecting them. Check CUP's admissions board. No 2027 guideline exists on CUP's admissions site as of 3 August 2026.
Fall 2027 (2027학년도 후기, September start) CUP has not published the 2027 dates, and we are not projecting them. Check CUP's admissions board. No 2027 guideline exists on CUP's admissions site as of 3 August 2026.

Last confirmed cycle: 2026학년도 후기 (Fall 2026), three rounds with real published dates: 2 to 15 April 2026, 12 to 27 May 2026, and 3 to 10 July 2026. Before it, 2026학년도 전기 (Spring 2026), also three rounds: 16 to 30 September 2025, 6 to 20 November 2025, and 2 to 9 January 2026. These are a factual record of what CUP published, not a forecast of the 2027 cycle.

The 모집요강 (admission guideline) PDFs for the foreign special-admission track are posted on CUP's admissions site at https://ipsi.cup.ac.kr/cup/ipsi/front/pdfView075000000000000.do. The international contacts printed inside the 2026 foreign-admission guideline are +82-51-510-0861 and +82-51-510-0868.

    5. 05From Exit 4, take the town bus to the university stop, about 5 minutes, or the school shuttle, or walk about 10 minutes
    6. 06Worth knowing before you set off: this published itinerary routes via Yeonsan, which is a long way round, and 1 hour 30 minutes is the university's own estimate for it.

    By City Bus

CUP publishes no airport limousine or airport bus route, so we are not inventing one. Within the city, routes 36, 50, 148, 178, 247 and 1002 stop at 금정구청 (Geumjeong-gu Office), and from there you transfer to the school shuttle or the local town bus 5 or 5-1, or walk about 10 minutes. The school shuttle runs from 08:10 in the morning at roughly 10-minute intervals until 11:20, with afternoon runs from 13:40 and extended evening service to 22:30 during exam periods. There are also evening shuttle connections toward Pusan National University and an early-morning Ulsan and 서창 service between 07:24 and 08:35.

    By Taxi

No official CUP page publishes a taxi fare or a taxi journey time from Gimhae Airport, so we are not going to estimate one. If you take a taxi with luggage, show the driver the Korean address: 부산광역시 금정구 오륜대로 57, 부산가톨릭대학교. For reference, the same directions page gives about 1 hour from Busan Station by subway to Jangjeon Station, and about 1 hour from Sasang Bus Terminal, taking the subway from 사상역 and transferring at 서면역.

The programme to know about is 함께하는 한국어, a mentor and mentee scheme run by 국제교류처 that pairs Korean student mentors with international student mentees for Korean language learning and regular cultural exchange, organised in teams. The published process runs announcement and application, then team formation and orientation, then team activities, then an activity report, then a results presentation with a scholarship payout. Benefits listed are a participation activity scholarship, an excellence activity scholarship, and activity support funding. This is the only verified international-specific student programme at CUP, and it is a real one.

    Clubs and Communities

    • 함께하는 한국어, the mentor and mentee Korean language programme run by 국제교류처, with a participation scholarship, an excellence scholarship and activity support funding
    • Other 글로벌 프로그램 from the same office: 글로벌 레벨업, 글로벌 전공탐방단, 우.만.세 (우리가 만드는 세계), 한 걸음 더 한국어, 하나되어 한(韓)걸음 and 하나되어 세(世)걸음
    • 교환학생, an exchange student programme, and 고충상담, a grievance counselling service specifically for international students
    • 동아리연합회, the Club Union, a student autonomous body that registers and supports clubs, allocates club rooms and runs festivals, performances and exhibitions
    • The Club Union states that roughly 15 central clubs operate across 4 divisions

Two honest gaps. No individual club names are published anywhere, the Club Union page gives only the count, and there is no named international student association or council on any official page. What we can confirm is that the international community here is active right now: the 국제교류처 notice board carried the 2026 KNN Korean Speaking Contest on 3 August 2026, the 2026 Busan International Students Festival on 18 June 2026, and an ACC foreign student tour on 25 June 2026.

    The campus and its setting

The campus is in 부곡3동 (Bugok 3-dong), Geumjeong-gu, in an area locally known as 오륜대 (Oryundae). The buildings you will hear named most often are 메리놀관 (Maryknoll, H) which holds 국제교류처 in Room 201, 학생회관 (Student Union, D) which holds the student cafeteria on the 1st floor, the counselling centre in Room 209 and the health centre in Room 323, 사피엔스관 (Sapiens, G) which holds the central library, 베리타스센터 (Veritas Center, L) with the staff cafeteria and a convenience store, and 미카엘관 (Michael, M) which the main site lists as the home of 국제교육원. The 신학대학 (theology) buildings sit separately at 부산광역시 금정구 기찰로102번길 56-7.

CUP publishes no description of the surrounding neighbourhood, so we are not going to write one from imagination. What is officially verifiable is the access: 장전역 (Jangjeon Station) on Line 1, Exit 4, then the school shuttle, the town bus 5 or 5-1, or a walk of about 10 minutes. City bus routes 36, 50, 148, 178, 247 and 1002 stop at 금정구청 (Geumjeong-gu Office) nearby. On campus, the convenience stores are open 08:00 to 22:00 in 학생회관 and 08:00 to 24:00 in 베리타스센터, which tells you something honest about how late the campus stays alive.

    Support for international students

    국제교류처 (International Exchange Office)

메리놀관 201호, 오륜대로 74. Main line 051-515-5811 to 5815, fax 051-514-1576. It owns admissions, the global programmes, the exchange programme and 고충상담, a grievance counselling service for international students. There is no generic email address, so write to the named 국제학생담당 staff: recruitment jk1011@cup.ac.kr, administration dy0911@cup.ac.kr, housing minj@cup.ac.kr.

    국제교육원 (International Education Institute)

The on-campus Korean language institute. Regular course 초급 to 고급, four intakes a year in March, June, September and December, 10 weeks and 200 hours per term, KRW 1,200,000 per term. 미카엘관 104호 with 051-510-0863 and 051-510-0870 on the main site, 메리놀관 201호 with the switchboard on the international site.

    학생상담·장애소수학생지원센터

The Student Counseling and Disability/Minority Student Support Center, in 학생회관 (D) Room 209, tel 051-515-5811 to 5815. Published services are psychological counselling, crisis prevention, career counselling and disability support. Whether any of it is available in English is not stated on the official page, so ask before you rely on it.

    Everything here runs in Korean

No English-medium degree track is advertised, no English-language support is stated at the health centre or the counselling centre, and there is no generic English admissions inbox. Papago, Naver Map and KakaoMap will cover daily gaps, but plan on Korean being the working language of this campus.

    On-Campus Dorms

The dormitory is the 학생생활교육관 (Student Life Education Center), two halls with a combined capacity of 518. 카타리나관 (Katarina Hall) houses 192 residents: guest rooms on the 2nd floor with 4 single rooms, female students on the 3rd floor in 16 double rooms for 32 people, and male students on floors 4 to 8 in 80 double rooms for 160 people. 카리타스관 (Caritas Hall) houses 326 residents, female students across floors 2 to 9 in double, triple and quadruple rooms, plus guest rooms. Rooms include a private bathroom, desk, chair, wardrobe and bed. Shared facilities are a laundry room with coin washers and dryers at KRW 1,000 per use, 07:00 to 23:00, an ironing room at KRW 100 per use, 07:00 to 23:00, a book café open 05:00 to 24:00, a computer room, seminar and study rooms, lounges open 05:00 to 24:00, and a parcel office. Meals are not included in the room fee. The dormitory meal service is 1일 2식, lunch and dinner including weekends, at KRW 2,350 per meal, which is the only on-campus meal price CUP publishes anywhere.

Room Type Fee / Semester Meals
2인실, 2-person room KRW 570,000 to 640,000 Not included. Dormitory meals are 1일 2식, lunch and dinner including weekends, at KRW 2,350 per meal.
3인실, 3-person room KRW 640,000 Not included. Dormitory meals are 1일 2식, lunch and dinner including weekends, at KRW 2,350 per meal.
4인실, 4-person room KRW 600,000 Not included. Dormitory meals are 1일 2식, lunch and dinner including weekends, at KRW 2,350 per meal.

Read this before you budget. First, we have reproduced the fee table exactly as CUP publishes it, including the oddity that a 3-person room at KRW 640,000 costs more than a 4-person room at KRW 600,000. That is what the published table says and we are not going to silently correct it, so confirm the current rates with the dormitory office. Second, no academic year is stamped on the published fee table. Third, and most important for you: no official page states which halls accept international students. The dormitory's own 선발안내 says eligibility is new and continuing students resident outside Busan, selected on grades plus distance points, and it does not mention international students at all. What points the other way is that the full dormitory description is published on the 국제교류처 site, and that the 생활지원장학금 pays dormitory fees for international students holding TOPIK Level 3 or above. Together those imply international students are housed, but that is our inference, not a published statement, so get it in writing before you count on a bed. Dormitory office: 051-510-0985, fax 051-510-0989, in 카리타스관 at 오륜대로 74, https://dormitory.cup.ac.kr/

    Off-Campus Rent

We have not verified current rent figures ourselves, so treat listings as a starting point rather than a quote. We found no citable rent figure for 부곡동 or the streets around 장전역, so we are not publishing a range. Korean search terms that work: 부산가톨릭대 원룸, 장전역 원룸, 부곡동 원룸, 금정구 원룸. Use Naver 부동산, 직방 and 다방, plus the estate agents around 장전역. Korean contracts carry a separate deposit and a monthly maintenance fee on top of the rent, so compare all three numbers before you sign anything.

Never sign sight-unseen. Use a vetted advisor to conduct a physical room check before sending any deposit.

학생식당 Student Cafeteria, 학생회관 (Student Union, Building D) 1F

Here is the honest position. CUP publishes where the student cafeteria is, 학생회관 (Student Union, Building D) 1st floor, but it publishes neither its opening hours nor its prices. The 식당&매점 page lists hours for the staff cafeteria and both convenience stores and leaves the student cafeteria's row blank, and the 식단표 menu page is a JavaScript date picker that returned an empty table when we checked. The only verified on-campus meal price at CUP is the dormitory's KRW 2,350, and we are deliberately not extrapolating that to the student cafeteria. What is published: the 교직원식당 (staff cafeteria) is in 베리타스센터 (Veritas Center, Building L) on the 2nd floor, open 11:50 to 13:30, tel 051-510-0988. The 매점 (convenience stores) are in 학생회관 1F, 08:00 to 22:00, and 베리타스센터 2F, 08:00 to 24:00.

    Libraries & Sports

    • 중앙도서관 (Central Library) is in 사피엔스관 (Sapiens Building, G), tel 051-515-5811 to 5815. During semester the reading rooms open 06:00 to 24:00 and the resource rooms 09:00 to 19:00 on weekdays. During vacation the reading rooms open 07:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and the resource rooms 10:00 to 16:00 on weekdays. Closed on public holidays.
    • Floor by floor: 2F multimedia room, 44 seats, PC and laptop zone, DVD collection and group discussion rooms. 3F 제1자료실, 88 seats, social sciences, arts, language, literature and history. 4F 제2자료실, 83 seats, philosophy, religion, science and nursing or health. 5F The Learning+, 103 seats, research space, foreign-language materials, theses and journals. 6F 제1열람실, 128 partitioned seats, and 제2열람실, 202 seats with a white-noise room and charging desks. A theological library annex adds 136 seats.
    • CUP GYM is a paid facility, which is unusual and worth knowing before you arrive. Students pay KRW 20,000 per month or KRW 190,000 per year, a 20 percent discount. Faculty, staff and alumni pay from KRW 30,000 per month. It is open to current students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and university supporters. Tel 051-515-5811 to 5815.
    • Inside CUP GYM: a weight training area with 18 types of Nautilus machines plus free weights, treadmills with LCD TVs, stationary bikes, a GX room for stretching and yoga, showers with soap and hair dryers, and free lockers. Hours are 08:00 to 19:30 on weekdays, closed Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, with hours varying during vacation. There is also a 운동장 (sports ground) marked on the campus map.
    • One honest note on access: neither the library page nor the gym page states any international-student-specific restriction, and "current students" would include international students, but no page says so explicitly.

    Health & Medical

    건강증진센터 (Health Promotion Center)

학생회관 (Student Union, Building D) 3rd floor, Room 323. Tel 051-510-0528. Open 09:00 to 17:00, closed for lunch 12:00 to 13:00. Published services are health consultation and screening, dispensing of over-the-counter medication, emergency first aid and patient transport, wound care, first-aid kit loan for campus events, and InBody body-composition measurement. Whether any of this is available in English is not stated on the official page, neither confirmed nor denied, so bring a translation app and ask.

    학생상담·장애소수학생지원센터

The Student Counseling and Disability/Minority Student Support Center, 학생회관 (D) Room 209, tel 051-515-5811 to 5815. Psychological counselling, crisis prevention, career counselling and disability support. English-language support is not stated here either.

    국민건강보험 (National Health Insurance)

International students on a D-2 visa are required to enrol in National Health Insurance after alien registration, and then receive the same medical benefits as Korean nationals. The NHIS foreign-language line is 033-811-2000, in English, Chinese and Vietnamese, weekdays 09:00 to 18:00. Your local branch is 국민건강보험공단 부산금정지사, 부산 금정구 중앙대로 1925, 15th and 16th floors, 051-580-8120. This is the only English-language health support we could verify for students at this campus.

For urgent situations anywhere in Korea, call 119. Take your ID, your insurance details and a translation app to any medical visit.

    Around 오륜대 and Bugok 3-dong

CUP sits in 부곡3동 (Bugok 3-dong), Geumjeong-gu, in an area locally known as 오륜대 (Oryundae). The nearest station is 장전역 (Jangjeon Station) on Line 1. From Exit 4 you can take the school shuttle, the town bus 5 or 5-1, which the international office says takes about 5 minutes to the university stop, or walk about 10 minutes. Note that CUP's two official directions pages differ slightly on that last leg: the main site offers the shuttle or a 10-minute walk, the international office offers the town bus at about 5 minutes. Both are official, so treat all three as available options.

City bus routes 36, 50, 148, 178, 247 and 1002 stop at 금정구청 (Geumjeong-gu Office), from where you transfer to the shuttle or the local bus 5 or 5-1, or walk about 10 minutes. The school shuttle runs from 08:10 at roughly 10-minute intervals until 11:20, then afternoon runs from 13:40, with extended evening service to 22:30 during exam periods, evening connections toward Pusan National University, and an early-morning Ulsan and 서창 service between 07:24 and 08:35.

One honest gap. CUP publishes nothing describing the neighbourhood itself, no shopping streets, no food streets, no rent figures, so we are not going to invent a portrait of it. What we can tell you from official pages is that the campus keeps its own convenience stores open until 22:00 in 학생회관 and until 24:00 in 베리타스센터, and that the library reading rooms run 06:00 to 24:00 during semester. Walk the area yourself, or ask the 국제학생담당 (거주) housing officer on 051-510-0864 before you commit to a lease nearby.
