About This Event
**Meet a Busan Grandma: Make Memories in Yeongdo** invites participants to experience Korean home cooking, local history, and community through a small-group cultural program.
Taking place on Friday, November 6, 2026, the experience brings guests together with a senior resident of Busan to explore the connections between food, personal memories, and everyday life in the city.
The three-hour program begins with an introduction to the host, who will share stories about her experiences and memories of Busan.
Participants will then visit nearby **Bongnae Market (봉래시장)** to shop for ingredients together. Each guest receives a ₩5,000 Onnuri voucher for market purchases, with any additional spending covered individually.
After returning to the shared kitchen, participants will prepare two traditional Korean dishes:
- **Doenjang Jjigae (된장찌개):** Korean soybean paste stew, prepared in separate vegetable-stock and anchovy-stock versions.
- **Fresh Cabbage Kimchi:** A freshly prepared cabbage kimchi dish made together during the cooking session.
The experience concludes with a shared meal and conversation, offering participants an opportunity to connect with their host and fellow guests.
Each participant also receives a wooden spoon-and-chopsticks set wrapped in traditional Korean bojagi cloth as a commemorative gift.
The program is limited to **eight participants**, creating an intimate setting for cultural exchange. Solo reservations are welcome, although at least two registered guests are required for the session to proceed.
