About This Event
The Korea International Ocean Film Festival (KIOFF) is Korea's only film festival dedicated entirely to the ocean. Held annually in Busan, the festival brings together filmmakers, ocean advocates, scientists, and audiences from around the world to explore the relationship between humanity and the sea through powerful storytelling. Featuring documentaries, feature films, animations, and short films, KIOFF showcases stories of marine ecosystems, coastal communities, exploration, conservation, adventure, and the cultural significance of the ocean. Since its beginnings as "Sea & See" in 2015 and its evolution into KIOFF in 2018, the festival has become an important platform for raising awareness about marine issues while celebrating the beauty, mystery, and inspiration of the world's oceans. Beyond screenings, visitors can enjoy guest talks, filmmaker discussions, exhibitions, educational programs, and special events that encourage deeper engagement with ocean culture and sustainability.
